As mentioned in my previous post Culture Club, I’m making my way through the 100 best books of the decade. Book 6 was One Day and Let’s just say it wasn’t the best choice after being newly graduated.
First, double first Emma is stuck working at a mock Mexican restaurant for too long (I’m hoping grad schemes hadn’t been thought up then. . . ), works in pubs, never really can afford what she wants and then once she does start earning the big bucks, has bagged her long time crush and is an actual author, she gets hit by a lorry.
I love a story that’s full of hope for the future.
Otherwise a heart-wrenching read and you can’t help but fall in love with cheeky Dex, even if he is a bit of a douche.
Also, I wish it was the 90’s again.
Note: take up letter writing; it’s much more romantic.
